Pete has approached his career and life’s work from a person-centered, humanistic, and positive perspective, successfully working with students from 5th grade through graduate school as a Secondary School Counselor, Mental Training and Performance Coach, Faculty and Adjunct Instructor at four colleges/universities, and elite level swimming coach. He believes in our innate ability to grow, heal, and thrive in any circumstance, no matter what the challenge, and, for 30 years, has successfully applied his philosophies to students, athletes, teams, businesses, and educators alike.
As an outgrowth of his many personal and career endeavors Pete’s scholarly work, and area of particular interest, focuses on strengths-based positive psychology applications for adolescents. His innate ability to connect deeply with young people is the cornerstone of this approach. Pete is currently in private practice as a Motivational and Mental Training Coach, Learning Specialist and Clinical Hypnosis Practitioner. He is also on staff at NYCC as their Director of Academic Excellence and Student Success.
Pete is also the Founder and Director of the Center for Strengths-Based Living, LLC, an organization dedicated to supporting human potential and flourishing. www.centerforstrenghtsbasedliving.com
